Unlike countries such as Canada, Germany does not currently have a separate licensed profession of immigration consultant or immigration adviser with a general authorization to provide individual immigration law advice. In Germany, the provision of legal services is regulated separately, including under the Legal Services Act.
I believe there is a real need for qualified professional immigration guidance alongside the work of lawyers, and I would welcome a clearer professional framework for this in the future. Until then, I keep a clear boundary between practical immigration guidance and legal advice.
